- We are proud to deliver tanks that can protect and stand firm in the harsh climate at the far end of the sea gap in Lofoten. A good and close collaboration has been established, and we look forward to new projects together with Lofoten Biomarine," says Sales Manager Helge Kvamme in Brimer.

Strengthens the Norwegian fishing industry

This project is the largest delivery for Brimer so far in the fish processing and industry market area.

- For more than half a century, we have made it our mission to protect and strengthen vital infrastructure for marine and municipal businesses. It is natural for us to be a driving force for both industrial development and sustainability in new times," says Kvamme.

Managing Director Jon Vestengen of Lofoten Biomarine shares the enthusiasm for the project: "It became clear to us early on that Brimer, with its corrosion-free, long-life tanks, was an ideal partner for the tank delivery on Værøy. The fact that the tanks from Brimer are stable in operation and require minimal maintenance means that we can concentrate on our core competence, which is to produce high-quality proteins for our customers," says Vestengen.

Good collaboration throughout the project

Vestengen is also pleased with the professional collaboration: "Communication and collaboration from sales, design and implementation have been excellent. Brimer has been adaptable and a good sparring partner for us along the way," he emphasizes.

Managing Director Håvard Haanes of Brimer is pleased to meet a satisfied customer: "The Brimer tank is flexible and can be used in many industries. We are proud that the collaboration with Lofoten Biomarine strengthens the fishing industry and makes it visible to more people what our tanks can be used for," says Haanes.

Big facility for big ambitions

The facility consists of

  • four tanks of 1,000 cubic meters each for storage of fish oil
  • eight tanks of 3,200 cubic meters each for storage of ground and preserved fish waste
  • catch pond in which all tanks are placed to reduce damage in case of accidents

The factory on Værøy is designed to handle large amounts of raw material annually to produce fish protein and fish oil. It includes test and development production of seaweed and kelp. The project establishes the first climate-neutral production of marine proteins.

Complete Brimer delivery

The tanks for Brimer are designed and projected by our own engineers, manufactured in elements from our own factories, and delivered to Værøy with our own trucks. Assembly of the tanks was carried out by our own fitters. Assembly began in August 2022 and was completed in September 2023. As reinforcement around the largest tanks, Brimer also carried out concrete work.

- "The conditions have been demanding throughout the winter, but the fitters have kept up their morale and delivered on both time and quality. We're proud of that," says VP Projects in Brimer, Vidar Wåge Hansen.
