Brimer signs contract for eight tugboats to Maritim Partner

Brimer, a company in the Entec group, is pleased to announce that we have signed an agreement with Maritim Partner for the delivery of eight tugboats to Nexans' newbuilding under construction at Ulstein Verft. This agreement emphasizes the mutual benefit of the cooperation we have had over many years between Brimer and Maritim Partner. At the same time, it confirms Brimer's expertise in delivering maritime equipment and services.

Two of the eight tugs are equipped with specialized cable lifters, which have the ability to deploy stabilizers on the opposite side to reduce the impact of any cable breaks during operation. Bollard reels of approximately 2 tons. The remaining six boats are more conventional tugs. All boats are equipped with a Volvo D4 engine.

These are so-called Weedo 710 tugs, i.e. tugboats with a length of 7.1 meters. Brimer will manufacture the hulls, as well as pre-equip the boats with equipment sent by Maritim Partner. This production and outfitting will take place at our factories in Latvia.

Brimer has a history as a court supplier of Mob boats and tugs since the late 90s, with models such as Weedo 17, Weedo 600, Weedo700, as well as tugs Weedo tug 710 and 910. The company has also previously delivered a series of similar boats in 2020, and looks forward to delivering the new series to Nexans in 2025.
